SCZONE participates in the naming ceremony of “Laura Maersk”: the first methanol vessel

A delegation from the Suez Canal Economic Zone attended the naming ceremony of the world’s first green fuel-powered vessel, Laura Maersk, in Copenhagen. The vessel completed a 21,000-kilometer journey from South Korea to Denmark, with a stop in Egypt’s East Port Said port for green methanol bunkering. Discussions focused on cooperation in East Port Said Port, the launch of C2X for green methanol production, and plans for a green fuel facility in the Economic Zone. Additionally, collaboration in technical training and crisis management for port and maritime professionals in the Economic Zone was explored.
